After a 2-1 home win Saturday night over archrival Laredo, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees had an opportunity to tie the Bucks for the Southeast Division lead with a win Sunday at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Not so fast, said the Bucks, who set a CHL season high for goals scored in a 9-4 win.
Several Bucks had huge offensive nights, including defenseman Adam Rivet (hat-trick), Leo Thomas (goal and three assists) and Ladislav Kouba, Jeff Bes, Bobby Chaumont and Serge Dube, all with three point efforts. Both clubs managed a pair of power play goals in seven opportunities each. The home victory doubles Laredos lead in the tight Southeast, now ahead of the Killer Bees by four points.
