Killer Bees Unveil 5th Anniversary Logo

(Team Release) The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (CHL) today unveiled their Fifth Anniversary logo and announced online fan voting for the top-five most popular Bees of all time. The team also announced its radio broadcast plans for the 2007-08 campaign.

The fifth anniversary logo takes the distinctive Bees crest and places it over the Roman numeral five. Using traditional colors and script, the logo projects a strong, classic appearance. The fifth anniversary logo will be featured as a shoulder patch on the team’s jerseys and will otherwise be used as the primary emblem during the 2007-08 CHL season. The team will also wear Fifth Anniversary jerseys during “Five at the Hive Night” on a date to be determined.

The Killer Bees will celebrate five years of hockey in South Texas with special events throughout the season.

VOTE FOR YOUR TOP FIVE FAVORITE BEES

Beginning Wednesday, June 27, fans can take part in online voting at killerbeehockey.com to select their favorite Bees of all time. Selected from the all-time roster, the 20 players were chosen based on popularity, on-ice performance and contributions to the franchise and community. The captain of each of the first four Bees teams was automatically selected. The list will eventually be narrowed down to the top five and those players will be honored (and if possible, present) at “Five at the Hive Night” (date TBA).

Voting will take part in two phases, each lasting five weeks. From June 27-August 1, fans can vote from a list of 20 Bees players. From there, the top-10 vote-getters will be placed online from August 8-September 12. The top five will be chosen from that list. Beginning September 19, on successive Wednesdays, the top five most popular players will be announced on killerbeehockey.com.

Fans who register online will be entered to win an authentic fifth anniversary jersey. The winner, and the player earning the most votes, will be announced online on October 17.
