Laredo Back on Track – Bucks Win in OT
In a special early start Kid’s Day at the Laredo Entertainment Center, the Laredo Bucks gave the kids something to remember with a 3-2 overtime win. Serge Dube had a pair of goals in the game including the game winner just 29 seconds into overtime. Igor Agarunov scored the other goal for Laredo who twice trailed by a goal in the game at 1-0 and 2-1.
Bucks-Bees Box Score
The big story of the game was the shot differential and the work done by the Bees second-year goaltender Jeff Van Nynatten. Laredo outshot the Bees 54-18 in the game (27-5 in the second period) with Van Nynatten making a CHL season-high 51 saves. He had stopped 38 shots in a row before allowing the game winner by Dube.
The loss improves the Bucks record to 11-1 on the season and for the moment slides Laredo into the top spot in the CHL with 22 points (one better than Youngstown who plays at Tulsa tonight). For the Bees, the loss extends their losing skid to four games (0-3-1).
