Hounds Increase NE Division Lead With Solid Win in Mississippi
The Youngstown SteelHounds (15-4-1) displayed more of their road magic on Friday night with a 4-2 victory over the Mississippi RiverKings (12-6-1). The win extended Youngstown’s lead in the Northeast Division to six points over Mississippi who has dropped four straight games (0-3-1).

Rookie goaltender Layne Sedevie improved to 3-0 on the season (2-0 with Youngstown) making 36 saves and Chris Richards had two goals and an assist for the Hounds who improved to 14-3-1 on the road this season. Petr Pohl and Adam Smyth also scored goals for the SteelHounds who were outshot 38-37 in the game.
Mississippi’s goals came from Cody Blanshan and Steve Slonina (with 23 seconds remaining) and goaltender Sebastien Centomo fell to 8-4-1 making 33 saves in the loss.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday night in the RiverKings 1000th regular season game.
