Oilers 1-0 Under Hodge
The Dan Hodge era is officially under way in Tulsa as the Oilers (6-10-1) defeated the Austin Ice Bats (5-15-1) by a score of 6-4 at the Tulsa Convention Center on Friday night. Hodge replaced Butch Kaebel as head coach earlier this week after Kaebel resigned.

Jeff Christian scored a goal and had a pair of assists and Mike Looby and Warren McCutcheon each ha d a goal and an assist for the Oilers who improved 4-4-1 at home. Kevin St. Pierre made 21 saves ending a personal six-game losing streak (0-5-1).
The only blemish for the Oilers was on special teams where the penalty killers allowed four Austin power play goals in six chances. Jason Tessier led the way with two goals and an assist.
