Colorado's Marco Emond Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 9th, 2007 is goaltender Marco Emond of the Colorado Eagles.
Emond went 2-0 this past week allowing three goals in a 5-3 victory over Wichita on Friday and two goals in a 5-2 victory over Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday. The Valleyfield, Quebec native had a night to remember in the victory over the Mudbugs where he stopped 48 of 50 shots including all 24 shots he faced in the third period. Emond missed the first three weeks of the season with an injury but since his activation on November 10th, has gone 6-2-0 with a 3.51 goals against average. He has caught fire over his last three games going 3-0 allowing six goals on 114 shots (.947 save percentage). Emond went 28-8-0 with the Eagles last season helping them to the President’s Cup.
In recognition of his achievement, Emond will receive a special gift from Oakley.
