2003-2004 CHL Schedule Released

The Central Hockey League, in conjunction with Optimal Planning Solutions, has today released the official 544-game 2003-2004 CHL schedule. The schedule begins Thursday, October 16th, 2003 with the New Mexico Scorpions visiting the Corpus Christi Rayz, and concludes Sunday, March 14th, 2004 with contests in seven locations. Each of the CHL’s 17 member teams plays a 64-game schedule, with over 73% of the scheduled games taking place on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

Optimal Planning Solutions of Vernon, British Columbia provides the professional sports industry with optimization-based league scheduling software and services, and played a significant role in meeting the schedule objectives of the Central Hockey League.

“Our priorities relative to the 2003-2004 CHL schedule were to again place a strong emphasis on maximizing our available weekend dates, which allows our fans the best opportunity to follow CHL action, while also emphasizing the numerous strong geographical and traditional rivalries we have established,” said Steve Cherwonak, Vice President of Communications for the CHL. “We feel we have accomplished the bulk of our objectives with the 2003-2004 schedule.”

Calendar and excel formats of the 2003-2004 CHL Schedule are available by contacting the CHL via email at admin@centralhockeyleague.com.

The Central Hockey League begins its’ 12th season of play October 16th with 17 teams (including the expansion Colorado Eagles and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees) in eight states, and is the only minor pro hockey league in North America to show consecutive attendance increases the past two seasons, finishing with an average per-game attendance of 4,401 in 2002-2003.
