Saturday Night’s Roundup – Road Warriors Tie Franchise High with 16th Road Win
The Youngstown SteelHounds look primed to go on another run and it is no surprise they are gaining the momentum on the road where they lead the league with 16 wins and carry a 16-9-1 record overall (ties franchise high with 16 road wins). On Saturday night, the Hounds needed a comeback to defeat the Oklahoma City Blazers 4-3 in a shootout at the Ford Center.
Oklahoma City jumped out to a 3-1 first period lead behind goals from Garrett Prosofsky, Marty Standish and D.J. Jelitto. OKC outshot the SteelHounds 28-16 through the first two periods.
Eric Przepiorka scored a power play goal in the second period and Joel Irving an even-strength goal in the second half of the third period to tie the game and send it to a shootout where Jason Baird would score the difference maker in the fourth round of the shootout (Youngstown wins shootout 2-1).
Andy Franck had a busy night turning away a season-high 44 shots. He improves to 16-7-1 on the season.
