OAKLEY CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 9th, 2008 is Jason Tapp of the Corpus Christi Rayz.
Jason Tapp's Bio
Tapp wins the award for the second time this season capturing it previously on December 17th (for the week of December 10th-16th). This past week, he brought the Rayz back into the playoff picture with victories over Bossier-Shreveport and Odessa (two playoff bound teams).On Friday versus the Mudbugs, the Kelowna, British Columbia native made 37 saves in the 3-2 win. He followed that up on Saturday making 32 saves in the blowout win over Odessa. For the season, Tapp is 20-25-6 and is the runaway league leader with 3088:59 minutes played and 1702 saves. He also leads the league with seven shootout wins.
In recognition of his achievement, Tapp will receive a special gift from Oakley.
