Late in the second period Mike Lukajic brought his team to within one goal with his 18th tally this year.  Things still looked good for New Mexico as they took a 3-2 lead into the second period locker room.

In the third period the Thunder mounted a come from behind victory.  Brad Thompson's shot hit a body in front of the Scorps’ net and found its way in.  Richardson added his second goal of the game 8:30 into the final period.  He finished his hat trick on an empty net late in the game, giving Wichita the two goal victory.
