Two of the familiar faces stole the show with Travis Clayton scoring the only goal of the night ending an eight-game goal scoring drought. Clayton recently on the road set the CHL record for games played dressing in his 709th game. The veteran and former Wichita star (696 of his games were played with the Thunder) was recognized prior to the game.
The other former Thunder player stepping up for the ‘Bugs was Jon Horrell who made 31 saves including 12 big ones in the final period. The win runs Horrell’s record to 3-0-1.
The Thunder have been bitten by the injury bug as they dressed just 12 skaters.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday night in Clayton's first visit to the Kansas Coliseum as a visitor.
