RiverKings Take First Place With Late Win in OKC
Despite leading 1-0 after two periods and outshooting their opponent 24-17 through 40 minutes, the Oklahoma City Blazers found a way to lose two points and first place in the Northeast Division as they gave up a pair of late third period goals to the Mississippi RiverKings in the ‘Kings 2-1 victory in the last CHL game before the all-star break.

Matt Pierce and Jeff Nelson scored in the third period giving the RiverKings the win. Nelson’s game winning goal came with just 42 seconds left.
Kevin Beech made 30 saves winning his 18th game of the season as the RiverKings jump into first place all by themselves with the win.
Robin Gomez scored the Blazers lone goal in the game.
