ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico – The Laredo Bucks this afternoon unveiled the
logo for the 2005 Central Hockey League All-Star Game. The CHL All-Star game will be played at the Laredo Entertainment Center in January of 2005 as the best hockey players in the CHL will gather to display their talents. The logo unveiling was made in conjunction with the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game that will take place Thursday in Albuquerque hosted by the New Mexico Scorpions.

“From the first day that Kiki DeAyala and I visited with Mayor Flores about the possibility of a new entertainment facility and professional hockey, we envisioned an All-Star game for Los Dos Laredos (Laredo & Nuevo Laredo),” said Bucks owner Glenn Hart. “We applied for the game as soon as we were granted our CHL franchise. We know that undertaking the events surrounding the CHL All-Star Game and the actual game itself is a huge undertaking, but the rewards of the game are worth the effort.”

The Laredo Bucks are in their second season of play. The Bucks were voted the 2002-03 CHL Franchise of the Year in their first year. Laredo plays in the 8,000 seat, state-of-the-art 36 million dollar Laredo Entertainment Center. The LEC is part of a development project that will feature restaurants, hotels, jogging trails, a lake and other business opportunities.

“Many of the features of the development around the LEC should be in place by January 2005 which will showcase the spirit and enthusiasm that Laredoans, South Texans, and Northern Mexicans have for their city, their region, and for their Laredo Bucks,” continued Hart. “The Bucks look forward to showing the world that Los Dos Laredos are first class in every way.”

The All-Star logo captures the feel of the city and the region hosting the game. This year’s logo incorporates a scorpion, the mascot of the hosting New Mexico team. The 2005 CHL All-Star logo was created in the shape of the flag of Texas to capture the spirit and pride of the Lone Star state. The logo features the Bucks colors of navy blue and gold. The logo was designed by the Bucks, the Central Hockey League and Adrenalin Design Group, Inc.

“We had a great process in working with the Bucks and the CHL,” said Dan Price, president of Adrenalin Design Group Inc. “With their ideas and direction we were able to focus on highlighting an exciting event that is being held in the state of Texas. We anticipate a great response from CHL fans all over the map”
