LIVIN’ THE DREAM, DELUNA LEAVES FOR PREDATORS
RiverKings Account Executive Takes On NHL Opportunity
 
(Southaven, MS) --- Once again showing that the Central Hockey League (CHL) can aid players and front office employees alike in their dreams of working at higher levels of professional sports, the Mississippi RiverKings have announced that account executive Jana DeLuna has accepted an opportunity to work with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.
 
DeLuna will be taking on responsibilities during the upcoming season to work as an inside ticket sales representative with the Predators. She leaves the RiverKings after two years of employment with the CHL organization.
 
RiverKings’ Director of Business Operations Ab Mattice said, “We are excited and congratulate Jana on taking her next step in her hockey career and wish her the best with the Predators.  We will miss her and her great work ethic.”
 
During her work with the Northeast Division champion RiverKings this past season, DeLuna represented the team in the front office promoting season tickets, group ticket sales, and other functions related to fan experience services. She also represented the team at other functions, such as community events, networking events, and expositions.
 
Prior to her arrival in the Mid-South, DeLuna worked as an events/marketing intern with the Nashville Sports Council. Her work included assisting with the preparation and promotion of annual Sports Council events, soliciting businesses for support and donations for activities, such as the annual Dinner of Champions silent auction, and attending other functions to promote the Sports Council and the Nashville Chamber of Commerce.
 
DeLuna is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in her home town of Clarksville, Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a Masters of Science degree in Health and Human Performance. 
 
DeLuna is looking forward to working with her favorite NHL team during the upcoming season, but knows she’ll be leaving some great people behind with the RiverKings. “I want to say that I will miss my season ticket holders (many of whom are now great friends of mine) and co-workers.” DeLuna adds, “I would like to specifically thank Ab for giving me the opportunity to work in professional sports.  When he called and offered me a job here two years ago, my dream of working in hockey came true and I will always be grateful to him for that.”
