All-Star Leveille Returns to Odessa

Leveille Returns; Kerr Signs for 2009-10 Season
Three-Time All-Star Recorded 80 Points Last Year

(Odessa, TX) – The Odessa Jackalopes announced today that forward Dominic Leveille will return to the team for the 2009-2010 Central Hockey League season.  Defenseman Stuart Kerr has also signed with the team for the upcoming campaign.

2009 CHL Off-Season Transactions

Last season Leveille put together a very productive season offensively, scoring 26 goals and adding 54 assists – giving him at least 80 points in each of his first three seasons with Odessa.  He also scored 81 points in each of the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons.  His 80 points last season were 8th overall in the CHL.

“(Leveille) is one of the best offensive players in the league,” said head coach Paul Gillis. “He’s shown that year in and year out with his production, so we’re definitely happy to have him back.”

Leveille was named to his third CHL All-Star game last year after beginning the season with 28 points in the first 19 games and reaching the midway point with 53 points (16 goals, 37 assists).

“I’m excited to be back, and I’m exited to try and take care of some of the unfinished business from last year,” said Leveille.  “(Gillis) is putting together another good team so I hope it will be even better for us this year.”

In 187 games with the Jackalopes, Leveille has scored 84 goals and 158 assists for 242 points.

Kerr spent last season playing in England, but was a member of the Austin Ice Bats back in 2007-08 when he registered 208 penalty minutes in 62 games.  The 6’4, 212 lbs. blue-liner also added a goal and six assists that season.  From 2005-07, Kerr played 87 games in the ECHL with Pensacola, Reading, and Long Beach prior to joining the Ice Bats.

“Stuart is a big, strong defenseman who plays hard and who plays tough so we’re glad to have another presence like that on our blue line,” added Gillis.

Kerr also played four years of junior hockey in the WHL with Spokane and Red Deer.
