Rush Win First Road Game of the Season
A strong start and solid goaltending led the Rapid City Rush (5-4-0) to their first road win of the season on Wednesday night when they beat the Wichita Thunder (2-7-0) by a final score of 4-1 at the Kansas Coliseum. The loss is the fourth straight for Wichita and drops them to 1-5 on the season at home.

Colt King’s sixth goal of the season early in the first period got the visiting team off and rolling. A power play goal by Luke Erickson just over two minutes later gave the Rush all the offense they would need.
Jamie VanderVeeken and Blaine Jarvis scored third period goals cementing the win for the Rush who were outshot in the game 36-28 by the Thunder.
Miguel Beaudry stopped 35 shots ending a personal two-game losing streak while improving to 3-2-0 on the season.
Mike Batovanja scored the lone goal for the Thunder and Scott Campbell made 24 saves in the loss.
