The Central Hockey League has today announced a multi-year partnership with the Sher-Wood Drolet Corporation that will see Sher-Wood become the official stick, glove, pant and protective equipment supplier to the CHL. Sher-Wood, established in Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1949, is the largest producer of wooden hockey sticks in the world, and offers one of the most diversified product lines in the industry.

All players in the Central Hockey League will be outfitted with Sher-Wood pants, gloves and sticks, which include the revolutionary Momentum model which will likely be the choice of many CHL players. Our primary goal is to offer first quality service to each and every player within the Central Hockey League so that they feel proud of using Sher-Wood equipment and sticks, said Denis Drolet, President and CEO of Sher-Wood. As part of the agreement, Sher-Wood will additionally sponsor several CHL awards, including all Player of the Month awards and the regular season Most Valuable Player honor, and will be providing equipment for the 2005 CHL All-Star Game in Laredo, Texas.

The Central Hockey League is currently completing its 12th season of play, with the Laredo Bucks and Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs competing for the 2003-2004 Ray Miron Presidents Cup championship. The CHL again led all North American minor pro AA leagues in average attendance during the regular season, welcoming an average of 4,501 fans during the 2003-2004 campaign.
