MVP Ulanski Re-Signs With Eagles
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today that the Central Hockey League's reigning Most Valuable Player, Kevin Ulanski, has re-signed with the club. Ulanski, a back-to-back national champion at the University of Denver, won the CHL scoring championship last season with 109 points (34-75-109), becoming the first player in franchise history to reach 100 points in a season.
In just two years with the Eagles, Ulanski already ranks seventh on the team's all-time scoring list with 192 points (58-134-192) in just 127 games (an average of 1.51 points-per-game). In each of his seasons in the CHL, the Madison, Wis. native has been named one of three forwards on the All-CHL Team. He was also a starting forward in both the 2009 & 2010 CHL All-Star Games.
Ulanski brings a well-rounded game to the Eagles' top line, as he was voted the league's "Best Defensive Forward" by his peers during the 2008-09 season and led the league in plus/minus (+45) in 2009-10. During his two seasons with Colorado, he has regularly teamed up with Eagles Captain Riley Nelson to form one of the CHL's top penalty-killing tandems.
Ulanski is the first returning player signed by the Eagles this offseason.
