The Fort Worth Brahmas have improved to 2-1-1 this season following a dramatic 2-1 shootout win over Bossier-Shreveport in the Brahmas home opener Friday evening. Scoreless through the first two and a half periods, the Mudbugs opened up the scoring on Chris Brassards first of the year with 7:45 to play. Brad Lukowich and Bryan Lundbohm assisted on a shorthanded effort by Martin Paquet with 3:31 to go, setting up the necessary shootout following a scoreless overtime, where Lukowich was credited with his third goal of the season. Dan Murphy picked up the win for the Brahmas with 24 saves, while Jeff Blair took the loss for the Mudbugs despite 35 saves. Fort Worth improves to 2-1-1, while Bossier-Shreveport falls to 1-2-1.

Matt Cressman had the shootout game winner for the Jackalopes (3-1-0), while Brenden Morrow registered his first point for Oklahoma City (1-2-1), assisting on Jarad Bourassas goal in the second period.

Wichita is now the lone undefeated club in the CHL with a 4-0-0 record. Travis Clayton had the game winning goal, and Scott Allison had his sixth of the year. Anders Strome had the lone Cotton King (1-2-0) goal.
Corpus Christi 6 @ Colorado 2
It was the Josh Blackburn show Saturday as the netminder turned aside 51 Colorado (3-2-0) shots. Ryan Carter had two goals and Greg Bullock had three points as the Rayz picked up their first win of the season (1-2-1).
Memphis 3 @ New Mexico 6
The Scorpions (3-1-0) remain red hot on the power play, converting four opportunities Saturday. Mike Oliveira had two goals for the second straight game, and Aaron Schneekloth added three assists. Keith Aucoin and Don Parsons each had a goal and an assist for Memphis (2-3-0).
Tulsa 3 @ Amarillo 4
Henry Kusters power play goal with 1:48 remaining in the third period was the difference in a back and forth battle between the Gorillas (2-2-0) and Oilers (2-3-0). Kuster added two assists, while Dan Gravelle scored twice and had an assist for Tulsa.
San Angelo 1 @ Laredo 0
Scott Reid was superb in the San Angelo (3-1-0) net, making 39 saves to pick up his first shutout of the season and allowing Kevin Vandewaeters rebound power play goal in the second period to hold up as the game winner. David Guerrera had 23 saves in the loss for Laredo (2-3-0)
Austin 1 @ Rio Grande Valley 5
Bill Newson scored just 20 seconds into the game, and the Bees (2-1-0) had the first five goals of the game in rolling to their second straight win Newson also had two assists and Joe Guenther had two goals. Benoit Genesse had his sixth goal for Austin (2-2-0).
