Netminder Levente Szuper Awaiting Immigration Approval
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Arizona Sundogs announced today that forwards Joey Sides, Chase Watson and Jason Williams reported from their respective American Hockey League training camps in time for Wednesday morning’s practice.
Sides participated in Colorado Avalanche triple-A affiliate the Lake Erie Monsters’ training camp for the second straight season while Watson and Williams each skated in Philadelphia Flyers triple-A affiliate the Adirondack Phantoms’ camp.
“It’s good to have Joey, Chase and Jason here,” added Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. Their presence certainly raised the level of intensity at camp today. All three players had great AHL camps and we hope to see them receive call-ups at some point this season.”
Sides participated in six training camp practices, an intra-squad game and one preseason scrimmage with the Monsters, scoring the eventual game winner in a 2-1 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
“I’m glad to be back in Arizona and I’m looking forward to getting the season underway,” said Sides after Wednesday’s skate. “I worked hard and enjoyed my time with Lake Erie but now it’s time to focus and prepare for our preseason games against Rapid City and our season opener against Colorado.”
Arizona now has 26 players in camp. Goaltender Levente Szuper has yet to arrive and is awaiting immigration approval.
