Oilers Welcome Back a Familiar Face
The Tulsa Oilers welcomed back a familiar face on Saturday night as Michel Beausoliel netted a hat trick in the Oilers 8-3 win at home over the Wichita Thunder in preseason action.
The Oilers acquired Beausoliel’s rights from Evansville earlier in the day and got him into uniform in time to spoil a perfect preseason for the Thunder who defeated the Oilers on Friday night in Wichita. Beausoliel, who played with the Oilers for a part of last season, scored his first goal less than two minutes into the game and then finished the three-goal performance in the second period.
Chad Costello scored a couple of goals (one shorthanded) and was a +4 in the game as was Gordon Bell.
Former Tulsa netminder Marty Magers struggled in goal for his new team allowing six goals on 16 shots and taking the loss.
Tulsa broke open a close game with five goals in the second period and never looked back.
