LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that Serge Dube has been named team captain for the 2010-11 season. Dube, who captained the team from 2006-2009, becomes the first player to captain the Bucks in two separate stints.
The Bucks also named Jeff Bes and Chris Korchinski alternate captains.
“Serge Dube was the number one choice for team captain hands down,” said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. “He’s been our captain before and led our team well and I have no doubt that he will pick up right where he left off.”
The 31-year-old Dube takes over the Captaincy from Adam Rivet, who did not re-sign with the Bucks for the 2010-11 season.
Dube, an original Buck, retired from playing prior to the start of the 2009-10 season but returned to the ice for two games in February 2010 as the Bucks were dealing with multiple injuries.
