Eagles Unleash Offense Versus Sundogs in 7-6 Win

Avoiding a four-game losing streak for the first time in franchise history, the Colorado Eagles erupted for seven goals and held on in a 7-6 victory over the visiting Arizona Sundogs on Wednesday night.

Box Score

Kevin Ulanski led the offense with two goals (including the game winner in the third period) and three helpers and Scott May had two goals and an assist.

Colorado scored twice in the first 1:44 and led 3-0 after eight minutes of play but the Sundogs would not go quietly as they used their power play to score a total of four times on seven chances.

A shorthanded goal by Riley Nelson and a score from Steve Haddon made things look pretty easy in the first period as they led 5-1 after 20 minutes.

The second period belonged to the visitors as Joey Sides scored his second of the night along with scores from Luke Erickson and Jason Williams making the score 6-4 after two periods.

Ulanski struck early in the third making the score 7-4 but Kyle Hood and Erickson helped pull the ‘Dogs to within a goal with more than half a period to play but goaltender Andrew Penner would shine in the end making  11 saves in the third period and 38 stops in the game.

Sides finished with two goals and two assists and Cam Keith, fresh off the IR, had three helpers for Arizona.
