SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League today wavied goaltender Josselin St. Pierre as Alexander Pechurskiy has returned to the team's active roster.
Pechurskiy was with the American Hockey League's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins the past week on a professional tryout contract with the top affiliate of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. He did not appear in any games with the W-B/S Penguins during the week.
A native of Magnitogork, Russia, Pechurskiy has appeared in 21 games with the RiverKings this season, earning a 10-8-0 record with one shutout, a 2.74 goals-against-average, and a .898 save percentage. Pechurskiy is currently ranked ninth in the CHL for goals-against-average.
He is a fifth-round draft selection of the Pittsburgh Penguins from the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, number 150 overall.
St. Pierre, a native of Embrun, Ontario, did not appear in any action during his week with the RiverKings. He came from the 1000 Islands Privateers of the Federal Hockey League.
