MOLINE, Ill. (February 19, 2011) – The Quad City Mallards of the “AA” Central Hockey League today announced that they have acquired goaltender Adrien Lemay on loan from the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League and that they have waived goaltender Justin Grant.
Lemay, a 21-year old rookie, was recalled by the Stars from the CHL’s Allen Americans earlier today. Lemay went 12-4-1 while posting a 3.31 goals against average and a .887 save percentage in 20 games with the Americans this season.
The 6’ 0”, 171-pound Lemay broke into pro hockey by playing two games with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades at the end of last season after finishing a two-year tour with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Lewiston MAINEiacs. The Moncton, New Brunswick, native last year played a whopping 60 games for Lewiston, for whom he went 23-35-0 with a 3.87 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.
Grant acted as the Mallards’ back-up goaltender in Quad City’s last two games after signing with the team Tuesday.
