Record Number of Call-Ups for CHL in 2010-11
More Than 1,600 Days Spent With AHL Teams for CHL Players
TEMPE, AZ (June 15, 2011) – The recently completed Central Hockey League (CHL) season saw a record number of call-ups to American Hockey League (AHL) teams with 37 different players seeing time in the AHL, the most ever in a single CHL season. In all, 15 of the CHL’s 18 clubs had at least one player see time in the AHL during the 2010-11 season.

The 37 different players made up 63 transactions and accounted for 1,621 days in the AHL.
Leading the way was the Allen Americans who had nine different players called-up to AHL clubs (a total of 15 transactions). The Americans served as the CHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars/Texas Stars seeing goaltender

The Tulsa Oilers, the primary double ‘AA’ affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche/Lake Erie Monsters finished second in the league with five different players called-up a total of 11 times. Forward
Harrison Reed was called-up twice by the Monsters with the final time being December 30, 2010 where he stayed on the shores of Lake Erie for the remainder of the season. Reed finished with three goals in 38 games with the Monsters and dressed in four Calder Cup playoff games.

David Brown finished with a 17-16-1 record and ranked first in the CHL with a .930 save percentage, tied for second with four shutouts and second with a 2.33 goals against average. His strong play earned him call-ups to five different AHL clubs including Toronto, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Texas and Houston.
