IceMen will get well-deserved rest after home game against Brahmas

Tonight's home game against the Texas Brahmas is the only thing standing in the way of what could be a relaxing holiday weekend for the Evansville IceMen.
"The guys are glad to be home," said Evansville head coach/general manager Rich Kromm. "Last year we were gone for the whole Christmas season and there's a lot of stress at this time of year. We were just all over the map, so this is kind of good the way it's set up right now."
Indeed, Kromm's team doesn't play another Central Hockey League game until Tuesday, when the Dayton Gems visit the Ford Center. It means that after consecutive three-game weekends — six games in 10 days — the IceMen are in the middle of a stretch in which they play just twice in 11 days.
"The schedule has been pretty crazy," said Kromm. "We have another three games in three days coming up with Bloomington (in two weeks), but it's not bad because then there's the all-star break."
