All-Star Game Livin' Loca

(Courtesy of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees) Hidalgo, Texas – Obra Homes has been named the title sponsor of the 2006 Central Hockey League All Star Game, and will give one lucky fan the chance to shoot on the ice for a new home worth up to $150,000. Also, Dodge Arena announced that world famous singer Ricky Martin will headline the All Star Banquet.

In addition, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees announced that the Stanley Cup will be on hand and available for photographs at the All Star Game.

The CHL All Star Game takes place Wednesday, January 18, at Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. The All Star Banquet and Ricky Martin performance takes place Tuesday evening, January 17.

“With the addition of Obra Homes, Ricky Martin, and the Stanley Cup, the CHL All Star Game has gone from being a hockey event to a world class entertainment event,” said Killer Bees General Manager Grant Buckborough.

The company will give one lucky fan the opportunity to come down on the ice and shoot to win a brand new home worth up to $150,000. Fans may register to win at all Obra Homes communities (listed below), as well as at all Killer Bees games leading up to the All Star Game.

A total of 25 families will win tickets to the five games leading up to the All Star Game, (December 27, 31, and January 6, 7, 12), and one family from each game will be drawn as finalists and invited back to the All Star Game. A winner will be chosen at center ice during the All Star Game for the chance to shoot for a new home!

Martin will perform following the CHL All Star Banquet, which takes place Tuesday January 17 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. The show is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, December 3 at 10 a.m. and will be available at any official RGV ticket outlet, by phone at 866-RIO-TIXX and online at www.dodgearena.com.

The Stanley Cup will be on hand at the All Star Game along with a representative from the Hockey Hall Of Fame. This is the first time the Cup has visited the Rio Grande Valley. “Wherever the Cup goes, fans love to have their picture taken with it and read the names of past winners inscribed on it,” said Buckborough. “It is truly the most recognizable trophy is pro sports.”
