After two games in the Southern Conference Finals, there is little doubt that the Bucks are eager to return to the Ray Miron President's Cup Finals for a third straight season. Laredo took care of Odessa 5-0 in Game Two behind a hat trick from Chris Grenville, who has to be considered the early favorite for this year's Playoff MVP, and a shutout between the pipes from goaltender David Lemanowicz. The series will shift to Odessa for Game Three on Tuesday night and the Jackalopes have to hope home ice can provide a spark to get the series shifted back to even.

It remained a scoreless contest for the opening half until Grenville scored his first goal at the 13:50 mark of the second period to give Laredo a 1-0 lead. The Bucks' red-hot forward struck again, this time on the power play with less than a minute remaining in the period to give his club a two-goal lead heading into the locker rooms for the second intermission.
Coming quickly out of the gates in the final frame, Steve Simoes scored Laredo's third goal just 12 seconds in while Odessa continued to be shutdown by the CHL's best defense (1.86 goals against per game in playoffs). Grenville lit the lamp on the man-advantage yet again to complete the hat trick 20 seconds past the midway mark of the period and put to rest any resemblance of hope the Jackalopes had in Game 2. WIth his three goals tonight (and four points last night in Game 1), Grenville has 11 goals and eight assists to lead all CHL playoff scorers. Frankie Lukes would add another for good measure to make it 5-0 and run the two game scoring total to 11-2 in favor of Laredo.
Lemanowicz was stellar all night long, stopping all 30 shots he faced for his first shutout of the post-season. Jeff Bes (3a) and Brent Cullaton (2a) also put up solid contributions for the Bucks, who will now look to take a 3-0 series lead on Tuesday night in Odessa.
