Jesse Schultz could see that Rapid City was a great place to play hockey.
Now, he’ll be seeing even more clearly after undergoing corrective vision surgery Wednesday at the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute.
In an unusual twist for a Rapid City Rush signing announcement, Schultz had a procedure known as photorefractive keratectomy , or PRK, performed by Dr. Terry Spencer as about 35 Rush front office employees, players and fans watched via a live streaming video feed.
Schultz was then announced as one of three players signed for the 2011-2012 Central Hockey League season, which begins with the opening of training camp on Oct. 10.
