The Quad-City Mallards announced on Monday that they have waived goaltender Brad Fogal, temporarily leaving the team with one goaltender.
The move was announced via the CHL's website. Fogal himself announced that he would be leaving the Mallards on his Twitter account, posting, "Thanks to the players and fans of the #QCmallards for the good times. Going to miss it here!"
Fogal, a rookie from Sharon, Ontario, appeared in nine games for the Mallards, posting a record of 5-2-0 with a goals-against average of 3.24 and a save percentage of .902. His final appearance for the Mallards came Dec. 8 in a 3-2 loss at Arizona.
The move leaves the team with just one goaltender, starter David McKee. The Mallards plan to sign another goalie to replace Fogal, but had yet to do so as of Monday night.
