CHL/IHL
On June 1, 2010, two historic hockey leagues joined forced changing the landscape of minor pro hockey. The Central Hockey League (CHL) and International Hockey League (IHL) fused their combined near-century worth of hockey history and tradition to form a super league that plays under the moniker of the CHL. 2011-12 will mark the second season under the collaboration and will feature 14 total teams including three previous IHL clubs (Dayton Gems, Fort Wayne Komets and Quad City Mallards).
